Remember March 2020? When we went from ‘that job could never be done from home’ to ‘that job can absolutely be done from home’ in the space of 24 hours?

Working from home. So many companies thought it couldn’t be done. But it turned out it could.

Move forward to now. Employees are back in the office to a greater or lesser extent, and on the whole, love the whole homeworking thing. Bosses, not so much it seems.

To be fair, it was a massive change that we just didn’t have time to plan for. Or any choice about. Or want.

There’s three of the big reasons why this particular change may not be sitting well with everyone.

If you have a big change to make, here are some key ways in which your friendly HR consultant can help:

– Communication – getting the word out there about why, and how this is happening

– Involvement – getting input and feedback from everyone, from the bottom up

– Management training – ensuring managers know what the change is, and how to handle it

– Staff training – ensuring employees know about the changes and how it will affect them
